Member Benefit: One of the benefits of being a member of the Michigan Association of State and Federal Program Specialists (MASFPS) is that students enrolled in public school districts or charter schools where members work are eligible for the MASFPS Scholarship Program.
Because MI is a “joint membership” state with NAFEPA (National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators), all MASFPS members are also NAFEPA members, making students eligible for the NAFEPA scholarship program as well.
(New Members welcomed! Go to www.masfps.org and click Join Us.)
Purpose of the Scholarship Program: To promote student access to a variety of post-secondary educational opportunities and mitigate factors that might inhibit students from pursuing their career and life goals.
2024 Program Enhancements: The MASFPS Scholarship Committee is excited to announce several enhancements to our 2024 scholarship program. With the Board’s full support, MASFPS will award up to four state scholarships of $2000 each. The top scholarship recipient will receive a second award of $2000 the following year.. Also for the first time in 2024, MASFPS will designate one scholarship award for a candidate pursuing a certificate, license, or degree in the field of education.
MASFPS Selection Process & NAFEPA Nominations: Selection of the State recipients is based on the NAFEPA scholarship application and scoring guidelines. MASFPS nominates two State recipients to be considered for one of four NAFEPA Scholarships of $5000 each distributed over two years ($2500 each year). Up to two NAFEPA Scholarships are awarded to candidates pursuing a degree, license, or certification in the field of education.
